If a stranger walked in off the street to Lauren and Jess’s wedding at Casa Feliz in Orlando, Florida they would have immediately felt that that there was something unique about this event. The air was so full of love and joy and community that you couldn’t help but feel it radiating through the space and through every guest there. I was lucky enough to not only experience the day as the photographer, but also as a friend.
Many elements came together to make this such a special occasion. The theme was a jazz age garden party, meaning all of the guests were dressed in their Gatsby-inspired best. It was a treat for the eyes and we all felt that we had taken a step back in time. Each detail was carefully considered, from the cozy lounging areas and lawn games for the cocktail hour to the personalized cake toppers that depicted the brides along with their cats. Yet despite all of the on-theme decor and attire the overlying vibe of the occasion was surprise. What more could you ask for after a flash mob proposal featuring gobs of the brides’ friends and family doing a choreographed dance in the middle of Central Park at the Bethesda Fountain? There was a special gift from the wedding party to the soon-to-be-married couple during the rehearsal, a song-as-vows surprise from Jess (can someone give this girl an album already? Wow.), a special gift from Lauren’s dad that included a dance to the song from Father of the Bride in the bridal suite (damn it’s hard to take photos while sobbing into your viewfinder…). Everyone involved worked so hard to make this day extra special for everyone else and you couldn’t help but be wrapped up in all of the love.
Lauren and Jess, your relationship is an inspiration. I feel blessed to have watched it grow over the past few years and I can’t wait to see how it evolves through this new stage of your lives. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
Thank you so much to the other vendors who also helped make this day so wonderful!
