The rain may have delayed the ceremony a bit and made for a humid start to their day, but it couldn't take away from the oodles of love and joy that exploded from every moment of Erica and Mike's wedding day in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The rain eventually let up, allowing the sun to break through the clouds for what was truly one of the most glorious sunsets any of us had ever experienced.
I've had the honor to be part of Erica and Mike's relationship since early in their engagement when they agreed to be guinea pigs for one of my very first engagement sessions as a pro photographer. And it has been a true pleasure to take part in their journey. These two are genuinely wonderful, kind people. Thoughtful, loving, funny and so full of respect for one another they truly make you feel like all will be ok with the world.
We traveled to Jamaica in August to celebrate their wedding with their (truly awesome) family and friends. Erica and Mike also decided to do a pre-wedding session (coming to the blog soon) to ensure they had some sunny photos even if it rained on the wedding day (a burst of rain every day is pretty common at that time of year in Jamaica) which also gave them a chance to spend some quality time with one another in the midst of the wedding weekend. Then on the day of the big event they did not see one another until Erica walked down the aisle, after suspense built even higher with the rain delay. We watched them drink in the moments as their friend Justin performed the ceremony and as their loved ones vowed to support their union. Then once the marriage was pronounced and the kiss was cheered it was time to celebrate with rum punch and a lively dance floor.
I'm so grateful that Erica, Mike, and their friends and family welcomed me into the folds for such a special weekend. I can't wait to watch as their relationship continues to grow and evolve in the years to come. Congratulations you two!
