When I met Nicole she was in the midst of planning not one, but three (!!) different weddings. She and Rohan were so excited for the big day they wanted to do it again and again. :) Actually they were having a big wedding in India planned with a lot of help from Rohan's family in August. Leading up to this they wanted to make it official with a city hall elopement first and then following it was a celebration at Battery Gardens in New York City for friends and family who couldn't make the trek to India the first time around.
One would think that perhaps by wedding number three things would have lost some of the luster and excitement for many people, but not so at all for Nicole and Rohan and their friends and families. The energy was high, the ceremony was emotional and heartfelt and felt just as special as if it had been their first. And later in the evening the dance floor at Battery Gardens was packed as the band hit the stage. The dance floor was huge, and thank goodness, because almost every single guest was out there shaking their stuff throughout the night. There were dance-offs, acrobatic moves, groups throwing back shots or taking advantage of the cigar favors on the deck, and a couple of wedding guests even hopped on the mic with the band. Through all the revelry, you'd never know that they'd been through this before.
How awesome to be part of Nicole and Rohan's celebration and to be part of something with so much obvious love and support. I'm grateful for the opportunity and hope I get to hit the dance floor with them again one day in the future!
