I had an absolute blast being a part of Shai and Deep's wedding at the Housing Works Bookstore. These two are funny, silly, and know how to throw a rocking party.
It was a freezing cold day in New York City when we met up at the Nomo Soho Hotel for prep and the first look. They were absolute troupers as we took their portraits in the street, laughing and joking through it all.
The ceremony at Housing Works was performed by Shai's brother-in-law and he perfectly captured the energy of their relationship. Then we all moved onto the dance party, where the floor was pumping all night long. Wanting to make sure no one had any excuses to sit through the music, Shai and Deep had a basket of flip flops set up so guests could trade in their heels. They also scheduled a surprise appearance from a couple of dhol drummers that brought every single guest out to the floor.
Shai and Deep's humor and energy is contagious and it's impossible not to have fun hanging out with them. I'm so glad I got the chance to celebrate this kick-ass night with them and their families.
