Rule of Thirds Wedding: Stephanie and Nick
Stephanie and Nick love a dinner party and a shared meal. In the early days of their relationship they spent a ton of time wandering around their neighborhood of Stuytown, to bars, coffee shops, and becoming regulars at their favorite Union Square Cafe. They wanted their wedding at Rule of Thirds to encompass the feeling of the best dinner party with all the people they love.
The day kicked off with Stephanie and Nick getting ready with just their immediate families at the Hoxton Williamsburg Hotel. It was an intimate and calm morning and a lovely way to kick off the day. After they did their first look, we walked together to Bushwick Inlet Park to take in city views and take photos. Then a vintage yellow taxi picked us up to make our way to meet their families at Rule of Thirds.
A dear friend officiated the ceremony and Stephanie and Nick exchanged personal vows that brought a lot of smiles and happy tears from their loved ones. Like the whole wedding day, you couldn’t help but be drawn into the sweet, caring relationship that these two have together.
To help guests mingle and talk and meet one another, the couple decided on multiple food stations around the room for dinner, with long, candlelit tables with simple, small florals to encourage more conversation around the meal. It felt luxurious and intimate, even with a guest count of 110. Rule of Thirds created an amazing spread of noodles and rolls and carving stations, making the buffet style feel completely luxurious.
Moving into the reception, Stephanie did a choreographed dance with her father. Then Stephanie and Nick wowed their guests with a choreographed dance of their own that was so sweet and fun. After cutting their cake made by another dear friend, the two hit the dance floor with almost the whole party getting in on the action. The whole day was infused with joy and love, and I adored capturing Stephanie and Nick’s smiles all day long.
