New York City in the fall is about as perfect as it can get—unless it’s a wedding in the fall in NYC where we also get to spend some time in Central Park!
Megan and Price love to hike. On days off they will hop in their car to go on adventures, exploring trails, hopping across streams, and generally being super damn adorable together. After they got engaged we decided to spend their engagement session doing just that on Bear Mountain. We had a blast as we spent the hour before sunset overlooking the Hudson River together. Love these two cuties!
Katie and Ann hosted one of the most delicious wedding receptions I’ve ever attended in the beautiful old carriage house space of Haven’s Kitchen in Chelsea, New York City. With Katie being a chef herself, she helped craft the menu to be a healthy, beautiful, spiritual celebration of the relationship she and Ann share as a way to bring together all of their loved ones on this special occasion. It was truly an incredible experience.
For Yasmin and John Brooklyn is their home, the place they met, the place they fell in love. They spend time together walking their adorable dog, Rocket, through Brooklyn’s parks (we even did their engagement session with Rocket in a couple of the parks near their apartment). So it was important to them to celebrate their marriage here, among the summer blooms of the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.
For weeks you haven't been able to hit a wedding blog/inspo site without seeing updates from the royal wedding of Meghan and Harry. If you happen to be planning your own wedding you may be feeling a little jealous/in awe/inspired by the whole extravaganza. And even if you won't be changing your title to Duke or Duchess after 'I do" you can still get the royal wedding planning experience with the following tips.
Wedding Day Formals are the unsung heroes of your wedding photos gallery. Though my clients love how I capture the candid and informal moments throughout their days, the posed family and wedding party portraits are actually some of the most printed/shared/and loved images from any wedding. Formal portraits are lightly posed groupings of your loved ones all looking at the camera (and hopefully smiling and not blinking ;) ).
Mary and Jamiyl have been together for what feels like forever. This isn't a diss on how old their relationship is but a testament to how right they feel together. When you meet them side by side you know that there is a special bond between them that feels ageless and wonderful. I felt so blessed to be beside them as they took the leap to the next stage of their lives together in Washington DC last fall.
The rain may have delayed the ceremony a bit and made for a humid start to their day, but it couldn't take away from the oodles of love and joy that exploded from every moment of Erica and Mike's wedding day in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The rain eventually let up, allowing the sun to break through the clouds for what was truly one of the most glorious sunsets any of us had ever experienced.
It's a scene I've seen play out again and again: as one partner waits at the front of the aisle, beaming with anticipation, their counterpart enters through the door on the arm of a loved one. He wipes away a tear. She lights up. Their eyes hold one another as they breathe in the moment. They look out to the friends and family who have joined them to celebrate this momentous occasion in their lives...and phone screens stare back at them.
