Wythe Hotel: Emily and Ben
When Emily and Ben began planning their Wythe Hotel Brooklyn wedding, they decided they were going for a classic, elegant event with a fun music vibe. They were really excited for the food and drinks and hoped that the reception meal would feel like a big, welcoming dinner party.
The color palate was creamy white mixed with just a hint of light blues, yellows, and pale pinks in their florals, with a lot of greenery running through the center of the tables and hanging from the ceiling. This was lit with lots of taper candles throughout, adding to the warmth of the space with it’s wood and brick decor and antique mirrors. Emily and Ben’s dress code was black tie optional, and when paired with the decor, it created a feeling of warmth, a welcoming energy, with a chic and elegant edge.
The couple started off the day getting ready in a suite inside the Wythe Hotel, with views of the NYC skyline in the background. They were joined by family and friends as well as their sweet pup Lester, who was also dressed to the nines in his own little tux. We took portraits with the couple on the balcony of their suite (where the wind almost whipped Emily’s veil away but for a lucky catch!) and then wandered the blocks around the Wythe Hotel together before the ceremony began.
The ceremony was simple and sweet. Emily and Ben don’t love being the center of attention, but their ceremony still captured the essence of their relationship and their love for one another. The cocktail hour and dinner reception that followed were simple and classy, with live musicians setting the tone. The guests all glowed in the candlelight as conversation hummed throughout the meal.
And then the band Barnstorm kicked off the dancing music and the vibe and energy of the night shifted completely. It turned into a lively, fun, colorful dance party! It was so much fun to see the classy, demure tone shift into a high octane dance floor for the rest of the night, complete with incredible lighting and glow in the dark necklaces, glasses, and light wands.
I loved getting to share this beautiful Wythe Hotel wedding with Emily, Ben, and Lester! I’d hit their dance floor again in a heartbeat.
