Prospect Park Engagement Session

After many changes to wedding dates and wedding venues, and a few big city moves on their part, I was ecstatic to finally meet Julian and Maggie for their engagement session here on the home turf we now all share: Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Though we’ve been working to prep for their wedding for a couple of years together, we hadn’t yet had the chance to meet due to living in different cities, along with the pandemic. But fate brought these two back to Brooklyn to live this past year, and it just so happens that they moved just down the road from me.

We kicked off the session together in Prospect Park near the boathouse, on a chilly but quiet morning. It’s such a beautiful location in the park, and always a lot of fun in the early mornings as folks are constantly coming through with their pups for off-leash hours. Despite the late-winter bare trees, we had gorgeous morning light to work with along with the architecture of the boathouse and the bridge. And the weather had been warm enough to melt most of the blocks of ice on the lake and at the nearby waterfall as well.

Next we hit up their apartment to capture some photos in their home off of Eastern Parkway, along with their adorable dog Louis. I had a great time getting to know these two in person, and am grateful for pre-wedding sessions like this, that help to create a real connection with clients before their wedding day.
